Turtle Loulou

If charisma had a shell, it would look like Loulou. This handsome adult male hawksbill was recently spotted and registered by Amandine Chanvrier at the iconic site of Ras Abu Soma. With his calm demeanor and steady pace, Loulou has quickly become a favorite for those lucky enough to spot him gliding along the drop-offs.
Adult males like Loulou are essential for the genetic diversity of our reefs, yet they remain some of the most mysterious travelers of the sea. Adopting Loulou helps us fund the field monitoring at Ras Abu Soma and ensures that this “gentleman of the south” can continue his vital role in the Red Sea’s history for years to come.
