Turtle Guincho
Guincho is a remarkable hawksbill turtle and the first ever documented at the dive site of Sharm El Rashid in the Egyptian Red Sea.
Her story began in 2023, when she was first spotted by Jeroen Joosten, who provided us with crucial details about her appearance and behavior.
A year later, in 2024, Sony Seil confirmed her presence once again, completing the information needed to officially register her as part of our TurtleWatch Egypt program.
Guincho’s presence at Sharm El Rashid marks an important milestone in our mission to explore and monitor lesser-known turtle habitats.
By adopting Guincho, you are not only supporting her ongoing protection but also contributing to the exploration and preservation of these critical habitats in the Red Sea.
Join us in safeguarding Guincho’s future and help us ensure that this beautiful pioneer continues to thrive in her underwater home.
