Turtle Ilonka
Meet Ilonka, the well-traveled green turtle who has been a frequent visitor to Wadi Gimal DC Housereef and occasionally Gorgonia Housereef. First documented on April 1, 2018, Ilonka has since been sighted numerous times, including key dates like May 10 and November 5, 2018. She continued her appearances through 2019 and 2020, notably on March 18 and February 6. Ilonka’s adventures extend into 2021, 2022, and 2023, with regular sightings from May to September, and even into 2024.
Her presence across these diverse reef habitats highlights the rich biodiversity of the area and underscores the need for marine conservation.
