Turtle Beany

Some turtles are explorers, but Beany is a true local. A beloved Green sea turtle that we have had the joy of knowing since 2021, Beany has made the golden sands and turquoise waters of Makadi Bay its permanent sanctuary.

Over the years, Beany has become a symbol of peace for everyone lucky enough to spot it. While other turtles might be busy navigating the currents, Beany is famous for its love of rest. It is often found tucked away in the seagrass meadows or sheltered by a coral overhang, taking a long, peaceful nap in the gentle sway of the bay.

There is something deeply moving about seeing Beany year after year; it is a reminder of the importance of protecting these specific "homes" in the ocean. Beany doesn’t just live in Makadi Bay: it belongs there, radiating a calm energy that seems to slow down time for anyone watching.
