Turtle Akila

In 2024, a small but spirited juvenile hawksbill turtle made her first appearance at Panorama Reef. Her name is Akila β which means “wise” in Arabic β and though she’s just starting her journey, she already moves with surprising confidence.
Spotted by Amandine Chanvrier, Akila weaves through coral like she belongs there, full of purpose and presence. She may be small, but there’s something bold in her gaze, something that hints at the turtle sheβll become.
Adopting Akila means standing beside her from the very beginning, as she grows into one of the reefβs future guardians.
