Nisa – The Dancing Green Turtle of Shams Safaga
Nisa holds a truly special place in our project’s story. She was officially registered in the TurtleWatch Egypt 2.0 database in 2026, spotted during our very first monitoring survey in the bay. What made that day unforgettable wasn't just adding a new turtle to our catalog, but sharing the moment with the amazing team of divers who accompanied our project coordinator on that milestone survey.
Watching Nisa swim through the crystal-clear waters of Shams Safaga is pure magic. While many turtles move with a steady, relaxed rhythm, Nisa seems to practically dance through the water. She glides over the reef with an effortless elegance, turning every breath at the surface and every quiet cruise along the sea floor into a breathtaking performance.
By symbolically adopting Nisa today, you directly support our ongoing field research, population monitoring, and conservation efforts in Shams Safaga and across the Red Sea.
