Meet Ewald: The Great Explorer of the Bays
Why settle for one bay when you can have two? Meet Ewald, the green traveler who loves to split his time between paradise locations.
Unlike turtles that stay loyal to a single bay, Ewald is a true free spirit, moving gracefully between the lush seagrass beds of Marsa Mubarak and the clear waters of Fayrouz. Because of his frequent travels, tracking him down wasn't easy! It took our research team quite a while to piece together his full facial photo-ID profile from different encounters, making his registration a real scientific puzzle.
The final, crucial piece was provided by volunteer Volker Wollert, whose dedicated sightings finally allowed us to officially lock Ewald into our catalog. Volker fell so in love with Ewald's adventurous journey that he decided to immediately step up and adopt him!
