The Matriarch of the Bay: Meet Mrs. Goodman

If Coraya Bay had a queen, it would undoubtedly be Mrs. Goodman. This magnificent adult female green sea turtle is a true pillar of our local marine community, known and loved by divers and snorkelers alike for her calm presence and timeless grace.

Mrs. Goodman is the master of finding the perfect "quiet corner." While the reef above is buzzing with the colorful energy of fish and shifting currents, she prefers the peaceful solitude of her favorite resting spots. She is often spotted tucked away in a cozy sandy hollow, perfectly sheltered under a limestone overhang of the reef.

Watching her rest is a lesson in tranquility; she settled into her underwater sanctuary with such ease that she seems to become one with the reef itself. It’s her private retreat, a place where she can recharge before her next slow glide through the seagrass meadows. There is something deeply reassuring about finding her there, year after year, a steady and serene guardian of the bay.

By adopting Mrs. Goodman, you are supporting the protection of her home. Your contribution allows us to monitor her health and ensure that the quiet sanctuaries of Coraya Bay remain safe and pristine for this wonderful lady and all the generations of turtles to come.
