Johanna made her first appearance in 2025, when she was recorded by Volker Wollert, who also chose her name. A green turtle with a graceful presence, Johanna has been seen more than once enjoying peaceful meals in the seagrass beds of Marsa Mubarak.
But what makes her stand out is the way she moves — with elegance, almost like a dancer gliding through the water. By adopting Johanna, you’ll be supporting the protection of these seagrass meadows, the very places that sustain her graceful life beneath the waves.

Your digital adoption package includes:

- A fact-sheet about the turtle you are adopting and the story of your turtle
- Your adopted sea turtle featured on our website
- Special post on our social media (Facebook and Instagram) for your turtle
Once we receive confirmation of the donation, the turtle’s adoption form (make sure the name on the donation and the adoption form match) and the payment receipt, we will issue you (or the recipient) with the adoption certificate with details about the sea turtle. Please allow 7 working days, following receipt of payment, for the certificate to be issued.
