Turtle Renée

Some encounters feel like they were written in the stars—or etched into the coral. We are delighted to introduce Renée, a vibrant Hawksbill turtle recently discovered at Gassous Soraya. This special turtle was identified by Renée Krabben, who decided to share its name with this new underwater friend, creating a unique bond between the land and the sea.
Renée is the ultimate “free spirit” of Gassous Soraya. Unlike other turtles that prefer a quiet life, this one seems to have a passion for the scenic route! It has been spotted zig-zagging through the coral pinnacles with playful agility, as if it’s playing a never-ending game of hide-and-seek with the reef fish.
Renée’s favorite activity? Exploring the shallow plateaus where the sunlight dances on the scales of its beautiful shell. It moves with a rhythmic, dancing energy, never staying in one place for too long, always curious to see what lies behind the next coral formation.
By adopting Renée, you are supporting the journey of a true explorer. Your contribution helps us monitor its growth and movements at Gassous Soraya, ensuring that this spirited turtle can continue to dance through the Red Sea for decades to come.
