Turtle Pernille

Pernille is an adult female green turtle living in the calm waters of Marsa Egla, where seagrass meadows and reefs create the perfect habitat for her daily life.
She was officially registered in our catalogue in 2025, after being encountered during the PADI TurtleWatch Egypt Distinctive Specialty Instructor training. Pernille became part of a very special moment: she is one of the turtles our students learned from while practicing marine turtle monitoring in the bay.
Through observing her behavior, identifying her features, and understanding her habitat, the students deepened their knowledge of conservation and field research — and in doing so, they chose her name together, making Pernille a symbol of learning, collaboration, and shared responsibility for the sea.
By adopting Pernille, you support not only her protection and long-term monitoring, but also the education of future instructors and ambassadors for marine conservation in the Red Sea.
