Sophia – The Curious Spirit of the Sea
Spotted in 2025 by Volker Wollert, Sophia is a green turtle full of charm. Unlike some of the more reserved turtles, Sophia seems curious about her surroundings, often swimming slowly as if exploring every corner of the reef with bright-eyed wonder.
Her name, Sophia, means “wisdom,” and perhaps she carries the quiet wisdom of the ocean with her. By adopting Sophia, you’ll be joining her journey of discovery and helping us ensure that turtles like her can thrive for generations to come.

Your digital adoption package includes:
- A personalized digital adoption certificate
- A fact-sheet about the turtle you are adopting and the story of your turtle
- Your adopted sea turtle featured on our website
- Special post on our social media (Facebook and Instagram) for your turtle
Once we receive confirmation of the donation, the turtle’s adoption form (make sure the name on the donation and the adoption form match) and the payment receipt, we will issue you (or the recipient) with the adoption certificate with details about the sea turtle. Please allow 7 working days, following receipt of payment, for the certificate to be issued.
