Sarah the Green Turtle: A Marsa Shagra Resident

Sarah-adopted

Meet Sarah, a remarkable green turtle frequently spotted in the waters of Marsa Shagra. First recorded on July 10, 2014, by Sarah O’Gorman, Sarah has become a familiar face, with multiple sightings over the years, making her one of the most documented turtles at this dive spot.

Sarah’s journey has offered us invaluable insights into green turtle behavior and ecology. From 2014 to 2024, she has been observed 18 times, mostly by Sarah O’Gorman, after whom she was named. Her frequent presence at Marsa Shagra underscores the importance of preserving marine habitats for the longevity of these incredible creatures.

By virtually adopting Sarah, you can support our efforts in protecting her home and ensuring that this majestic green turtle continues to thrive. Join us in contributing to the conservation of these marine wonders.
